About Serrapeptase

New plaster must be sealed with PVA solution (five parts water to one part PVA). Old painted walls must be sanded and cleaned down. Wallpaper must be removed and the surface made good. Old tiled surfaces can be stripped of tiles and made good, but it is possible to tile over old tiles as long as they are still firmly attached to the wall. The grout joints of the new tiles should not coincide with those of the old tiles, so that if the old joints weaken and crack, the new tiled surface will not be affected.

Using a Tiling Gauge

You can use a tile gauge – a length of marked-off wooden batten – to judge accurately the number of tiles you need. By marking the width of the tiles, you can ‘gauge’ how many tiles are required for a particular area. It is particularly useful when visualising the tiles in position. When you are calculating how many tiles are needed, use the gauge to see how the different tile sizes will fit in the area you have to tile. If your tiles are rectangular, rather than square, you will need two gauges, one for the vertical gauging, one for the horizontal gauging.

Tiling a Shower Cubicle

You should tile a shower cubicle after tray installation, but before a screen is fixed. Standard-size tiles will often divide exactly into the dimensions of the shower tray, so cuts are often unnecessary, but check with a gauge first. Start at the outside of the cubicle, with the tile extending slightly outside the screen.
